This unit was designed by a speller family for speller families. Instead of asking you to adapt a traditional curriculum, this unit gives you a ready-to-use lesson plan with meaningful content, built-in spell lessons, videos, literature connections, hands-on activities, and discussion opportunities.

Students will learn about how canals and dams are built, why humans use them, how they change transportation and trade, and how they affect rivers, communities, ecosystems, and history.
