🌟 A Math Program That Speaks Your Language
START HERE: Math – Year 1 is the first math program designed specifically for students who spell to communicate. With age-appropriate themes and engaging content, this 36-week program supports learning through stories, videos, hands-on activities, and spelling lessons.
Whether your student is just beginning their age appropriate math journey or ready to expand their understanding, this is the place to START.
📘 Program Overview
Our program is divided into three 12-week sessions across three levels. It’s not intended to replace a full math curriculum but to provide foundational understanding in an accessible and inclusive way. Families are encouraged to supplement with a comprehensive program like Teaching Textbooks or CTC Math.
Level B (Ages 7-10):
🧠 Spellers-Friendly, Age-Appropriate
Each lesson is built around the principles of presumed competence and speller accessibility:
-
Lessons are written in clear, thoughtful language and spell lesson format.
-
All content is designed to be 100% accessible for non-speaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking learners
-
Activities encourage critical thinking, meaningful communication, and math confidence
-
No “special education math” here—just solid content in a form all learners can engage with
